Pretty much the best thing we have ever spent $ on...

As most of you know, we have talked about/dreamed about finishing our basement for quite some time now. Actually it has been since we bought our house 4 years ago, this is mainly because the prospect of doubling our house size (along with putting all three kids downstairs) was especially tantalizing. I actually started this project in the spring of 2006, Nick Jensen (our former neighbor) and I framed most of it then along with some other stuff but my drive and money eventually ran out...When i got back from LRO school last April we decided to have James Page construction finish it. Now after we have settled in, it has been one of the best things we have ever spent $ on!!! The sound of silence upstairs is priceless! So for those of you that live out of state and haven't seen it (and Jared), here are some pics of the different stages of building...

Yeah, I'm the first one to comment!!--and even though I've seen your beautiful basement numerous times, I still love seeing these pictures. I'm so happy for you guys to have finished this project--you deserve it--you've waited a long time and now everything looks great. Good job!!

If things don't work out here in D.C. maybe we can come live in your basement. At least then I'd have an XBox.

I'm glad I finally came over so that I didn't get ridiculed on your blog like Jared did. I LOVE your basement! I keep telling Taylor that's what I want when we have a house like 15 years in the future. I love the kids's rooms and the bathroom but I'm going to have to say that the living room with the sweet sound system and the dimming lights are my favorite aspects.

I can't wait to come eat some lasagna on Sunday. (Marcie, my mom gave me the message and yes I'd love to bring the dessert)

Your basement looks so good! I love the built in entertainment center and the paint in the girls room. I am excited that you guys got it finished. I bet it is so nice to have the kids downstairs and to have all that extra room. We will definately come and see it next time we are in Utah. Sorry my comment is so delayed- I have been a slacker blogger lately.

I love the basement! You finished it just in time for Mom to move in since she doesn't have a job. What good people you are! It looks great!
